Flower is one of Patience’s kittens. After her littermates had all found homes, Flower remained here. It worked out because she was and still is very bonded to her mother. I hate to say this about her, but she had almost no personality and I had trouble picking out a name for her. I eventually named her after the skunk from Bambi just because of her coloring. Her name ended up suiting her very well as she turned out to be a rather timid, cautious kitty, just like her namesake in the movie.
At first, Patience was the only other living thing she loved. She would not allow pets, slinking away from my hand every time I tried. Now she has completely turned around and loves me just as much as Patience. She MUST know where one of is at all times. If she gets separated from both of us (like waking up from a nap and neither of us are in the room), she will walk from room to room crying until she finds one of us.
She is still one of the more shy cats, but she is also the only one that sleeps on me. She prefers to lay across my hip. If I turn in the middle of the night, she will stand up and walk on me as I roll over, settling into my lap. I’ve gotten so used to this that I actually miss the weight of her on me when I spend the night away from home.
